The Chinese people are very friendly, and they are welcoming to Westerners. Of course on the street people do not talk to strangers much, but it is the same thing in New York. But if you meet people through work, school, or friends, they are very friendly.

I do. But the thing that helps, is that the food here is truly delicious. Even the two more exotic things that I tried (jellyfish and scorpions) were good. The less exotic things are absolutely delicious.
