He just doesn't seem like a feasible candidate to me. He has two major flaws:

No. He made said comments when he was touring Florida's "Space Coast" about a week ago. Jobs and economy in the area have been tightly linked to the shuttle program over the past decades, and they have been seeing all that dry up since the shuttle program ended in August, 2011. In all likelihood, Gingrich is just telling anybody who will listen anything they want to hear in order to get votes.

@previous (A)A3P is a conservative white supremacist political organization. Its members are apparently doing a lot of organizing for Paul on the west coast as their announced candidate, Merlin Miller, has about as much public support and name recognition as my cat. Some questions have been raised recently as to how much Paul knows about or endorses the people doing the work.
