Notch said that distributing minecraft.jars are an illegal act.

In case you don't know. digiex is a launcher that allows you to swap minecraft.jars.

They also allow you to download .jars of alpha and beta versions too.

I am thinking of using it for a modded one and a vanilla one because I apparently can't play multiplayer now.

Oh wait, problem is, the game will still fucking read the files in other locations of the .minecraft folder.

are you sure it doesn't just patch the current jars or even downloading them from the minecraft servers?
