Just found out the call for bids (tender) for the reconstruction of my now local skatepark here in Zagreb is rigged and that the company who screwed up 3 parks in the past 6 months will win the bid.
How it went down so far: > city presents the park design > starts the call for bits to see who CAN BUILD THE ALREADY DESIGNED PARK for the least cash > *that company* places the best bid > after they win it they come with THEIR OWN design and say "this is what we can do for that amount of cash and space" > politicians are like "oh you'll plant trees around too, that's pretty, better than expected" even tho the park is nothing like it should have been and is actually shit for riding
It happened in Novi Sad, Serbia it also happened in Belgrade, Serbia, happened in Sarajevo, Bosnia... every time I'm invited to the opening of one of their parks I'm like "lol, this ain't even close to the original sketches I've seen"...
The way they rigged the tender here in Croatia is unseen... at this point the level of corruption here stops being funny and is just sad...
