Topic: How do you find the IP of websites?

Anonymous A started this discussion 15 years ago #16,436

I found an emergency IP list that has all of the IPs of websites, but a lot of the ones I care about like 4chan, 4chon, tinychan, minichan, fimchan, and ponytalk aren't listed.

So I am wondering... how do I find the IP addresses for these websites?

Can I have a serious answer please?

I heard it was as simple as entering a command line into cmd.

Open up cmd.exe from your start menu and type "ping minichan.org" (without the quotes) and you see the IP address between the brackets.

In Cmd "Ping youtube.com"

replace youtube with whatever site.

@OP
nslookup might come in handy.

That was what I couldn't remember. This is legit, right?
I wasn't sure if that one anon was trying to pull a "del system32" trick on me.

Name Server Lookup is the straight-forward way to do it. That's what the nslookup command is there for.

LOL
http://ip-adress.com/

Years ago someone showed me that site and I was living elsewhere and it showed me visually living in a lagoon right in the middle of the water. About 3 miles away.

Now with this bump of 2.5 yrs ago I try it from here and again I now live in my Ocean a Blue about 1 mile out on the water - that site again turns my house in2 a house boat

Why would you bump this?

This random bumping is out of control.

Cornishmen are wary when confronted with "nontraditional" behaviours.
