Topic: Life with a crappy computer would be so much easier if game developers would actually release demos

I want to play Mass Effect, but my laptop's specs are just under the minimum requirements and I don't have a 360. I downloaded the demo of ME2 off Steam and it does run, it's just a little choppy, so surely ME would have similar results. I looked into it, and with ME1 (the retail disc version anyway, the Steam version might not have it) you can edit various files to change things that can improve performance. I'm hoping I can get the game to run decently on the absolute lowest settings, and before spending $20 on it, it would be nice if I could download a demo and confirm it first. But nooo, I have to pirate the game instead just to see if runs or not. >:/

I agree completely. It's unfathomable how they have made you commit such a treacherous act. At least they redeemed themselves with the sequel, not forcing you to not abide by the morally just.
