I've been playing this game since alpha phase and never once have I constructed a mob spawner.

Now that creative mode has been added to the game.

I think I maybe ready to build one myself.

But the problem is, I don't know how.

In creative, you can spawn mobs with eggs in the newest release. It's a brand new feature and I've been playing with it all afternoon. Update.

I just realized that the next project I should be working on in my main world is a mob spawner so I don't have to go hunting all of the time.
However, I have no idea what the design should look like.

Anyone have any tutorials, anything?

Also, does anyone know how to build a WORKING cobblestone generator?

Take some dirt, and make a 3x5x2 hollow structure. Bottom should be a ring, the other should be something like a figure 8. Replace the third block on the 5-length side of the bottom ring with a normal piston. Place a lava source block in one of the top loops of the top ring, and a water source in the other loop of the top ring. Get a button, and place it so that the piston will be powered when the button is pressed. THERE YA GO~

Get a tool with the Silk Touch enchantment, back up your game to 1.9pre5, and mine the spawner, then restore to 1.1.

Do you guys have any designs for one?

I checked YouTube and all of them seem to be for versions that's not 1.0.0 or 1.1.0.

As soon as I try and spawn a mob with an egg the screen goes black and crashes. Why. ;_;
