Also picking profiles makes more sense than what we have.

I think it depends on the school. At my school we had core subjects and optional subjects. The core subjects were English, Maths, Science, ICT, PSHE and RE. You could pick 3 optional subjects and we were given a sheet with 3 columns on, and a variety of subjects in the columns. You had to pick one subject from each column. This means that some combinations were impossible but because some subjects were in more than one column most people were able to choose what they wanted.

So if the columns were like this (There were more options IRL):

A: Business Studies, 3 Science, History
B: History, Food Tech, Resistant Materials
C: French, Geography, Double Science

Then you would not be able to take Business Studies AND 3 Sciences, but must choose one of the two. You would however be able to take History because it appears in column B.

Oh I see, well here you have those four profiles but they're not very distinct.
Every profile has four classes that are mandatory and then a few optional.
There's also 4 mandatory classes, English, Dutch and Mathematics A(simplified version)and PE.
