Honestly though, I think the guy knew damn well that he wasn't going to shoot him. He probably only gave up the cash because it's store policy to just cooperate and do what they ask. He was probably just trying to talk him out of it because he knew he'd be caught. He wouldn't have been so fucking calm and polite if he was willing to actually use the gun. Why would he say "God bless" and "I promise to bring it back when I get back on my feet" but be willing to kill another human being for it.
