Four months outside the mindfuck. Four months of trying to recover.
I think I'm making progress.
I no longer fear him as much. The damage he caused to my psyche; it's not as prominent now. I'm probably still hurt, but I've ceased to be obsessed with revenge against him. Revenge. Anger. Hatred.
Komm, süßer Tod. That was the thought in my mind at the time. Let me die.
But it's now different. I no longer want to die because of him. It's my deeper flaws that trouble me more. He's just made me more wary of psychopaths.
I've ceased to be triggered by people behaving in ways that remind me of him passingly. I'm no longer afraid that everyone will betray me.
And the one person I used to be scared of; the one who tried to separate me from my abuser but ended up turning me away from himself temporarily?
Well, he's one of my best friends ever. Thank god he was there to talk sense in to me when I needed it.
