Topic: what should i say to this democrat

This is like the 20th reply, i cant even think anymore. Someone send me a reply

help me figure this out: In your referenced article, the author says at the "End of '89 - after Reagan had left office, the Federal debt was 2.1907 trillion." Then he jumps way up to Jan 20 of 2009 when Obama was inaugurated with the debt at 6.3073. It's kind of misleading to credit this to Obama because he was just then coming INTO office, so that 4.1166 trillion increase should have been charged to H. W. Bush, Clinton and G. W. Bush, right?

Anyway --- Since Clinton balanced the budget, more of that debt got added under "W". (2 wars, unfunded Prescription Drug program, unpaid for tax cuts.)Then the next number the author sites is in August of 2010. Here he says the Fed debt was 8.8333 or an increase of 2.5260 in 48 months. It I think it's really misleading to vilify Obama when he walked into such an unbelievably crappy financial sitation. It's never as easy as these articles lead us to believe

I saw a cartoon once of Obama as a fireman who had just finished putting out a fire in the white house, which is a burned husk, and there is a man in a suit yelling at Obama about "the mess [he] made".

Let's consider that analogy. The fire is debt, no? Obama has increased the deficits, and the debt. In what sense has he put out the fire?

A more correct analogy would be Bush setting the White House on fire, and Obama pouring petrol everywhere.

> The fire is debt, no?

I assumed it meant toxic debts rather than all debt.
