It's totally possible for hate to dissolve if they demonstrate that change is really happening. If they're sincerely trying to build re-build trust with you.
Not to further along their own social goals, but because it's the right thing to do. Is that the case here?
It's a rarity for such changes to happen in people, but it is possible.

Everybody I've really gone so far as to say I hated them has never tried to change, so no. For example, Nick Griffin has never stopped being an insufferable twat every time he opens his mouth and is still, to this day, shitting up politics.
