I use Turbo Tax free online. It even files them electronically for free.

I used some other company this year because I was lead to believe it was completely free, but then it wasn't. I either misunderstood what was written or which link to click. It was still cheaper than turbotax for filing state taxes though. Federal was free still.

Yea, I still got free federal, but I had to pay for state. If you make less than a certain amount you are supposed to get free everything, I thought. I guess it is only for federal though (well, turbotax will let you regardless of your income because it knows people who make more than 58k are likely to buy the deluxe packages because they are more likely to have more complex taxes -- I guess).

I used TurboTax and got my federal AND state for free. I got the refund on Wednesday.

Argh, so I was too lazy to stand up and grab my tax info from last year (in my defense, I would have had to open my closet door and reach up), so I just recovered my pin through the IRS.
I didn't realize you are just given a new pin, and it doesn't actually recover. There wasn't even a place in taxact to enter a "new" pin.
So my taxes were rejected. Upon resubmitting there was now a place for the new pin. Why not have it to begin with. Oh well, now it shouldn't be rejected.
