9800GT wins in everything put power consumption, but that's to be expected.

would this be an upgrade that is viable, and if som is there something I should be wary of, like different expansion port requirements, etc etc? I would just replace my 9800 gt, but I cannot find any decently priced for what it is worth, so I just reckoned to do an upgrade.

from the site given to me it is very evident that this is a superior card, however, would it fit in the same slot as my 9800 gt? it seems...bulky...

you need to measure the space in your case...

450s are okay, yeah.
It's all PCI Express 2, you just need to make sure your PSU is adequately powerful and has 6-pins.
