You 'trust' people to the point that you don't even think for yourself. Like the whole blind support of AC in doxxing Dalloway--helping destroy the chance of her landing a job in the future when potential employers Google her name.

AC is a big boy, he doesn't have to justify himself to me. Funny you should bring that up while you're trying to smear Leo. Irony lol.

Like I said, blind support. Just like you're doing here... exactly why I brought it up.

I have in the past. You're not a special unique snowflake and nobody Googles somebody's name unless that person is famous for something. Also I like how you're >implying that somebody is talking out of their ass when it comes to hiring policy when you're a chubby 17-year old neckbeard who only leaves your hugbox so you can go to the bathroom.

It's a standard practice. I've had an interviewer mention a programming project I've had online in an interview, and I hadn't included it in my resume or statement.

I managed a small team in a HR department and oversaw 300 people through the hiring process. Not once did any of my people google somebody. They did, however, find them on Facebook. It's much, much easier to find a Facebook account, and it actually tells you something about the person you are considering.

HR is generally the same regardless of the job. That was just the area my team specialized in, there were other areas other teams did and most of them didn't use google. I remember asking them at Manager's Night after a new worker asked me if she should adopt the practice.

It depends on the size of the company as well. Many tech and engineering firms prefer to have the engineers on the team provide feedback on candidates. Certainly one of which will think to Google the candidate's name, especially a developer at a web firm, as I've experienced personally.

So where is Becky already?
In all seriousness, it's commendable that you are against adult-child relationships of this nature, but where are you to stand up for your beliefs now? Your input is valued on this matter. Because we unfortunately have ignorant people like Ks (he's not the only one) who can't think for themselves and will never consider an alternative belief unless someone with a name & trip says it. Be the light that this community deserves, Becky.

that in ALMOST ALL CASES googling a name reveals nothing, which is why it is not standard procedure. In this case, googling her name leads to a dead link. Someone who is not a moron would then be able to follow through the cache (assuming it does not update at some point in the next several years) and see what youtube accounts she has and who her favorite musical artists are. It's not the end of the world.

Your experience is limited to your industry. We've already been through the fact that the tech industry and academia are not the same as your industry.

We've also been through the fact that you have absolutely no experience of your own and are, in fact, guessing that they do not operate the same. The hiring process is pretty similar all round.
It links to some youtube articles and a list of artists. and oh shit, look at that... it's not even listed any more.

His justification: she's a pedophile (dubious) and an asshole (coming from AC...) trololol; it's completely reasonable to try to ruin her future job prospects because I take things on the internet too seriously.
