It's the A1181, pretty old now. I'm hoping Ubuntu might have better performance for basic things like web surfing.

I don't know how the newer versions of Ubuntu run on this hardware, but I recall older versions had some problems getting the WiFi and the iSight camera working out of the box. Both issues have pretty basic solutions though.

You can't go from Mac to XP, the feel is totally different, and the look is second rate. It's easier to go from Mac to Linux than Mac to Windows. I'm already on the darkside see and I like it there. I'm committed to learning Linux.

I don't understand why this thread is so controversial. Linux is already the top developer's OS of choice in so many areas. It doesn't matter what users think. Developers are going to where they can learn the most. They will find a way to drag us with them.
