Alright gentlemen, time for an important question. For a twenty-something's dress shoe, do you lads prefer a cap-toe dress shoe, wingtip, or loafer (if so, tassel or penny)?

I prefer wingtip with some nice patterns when I wear blue, pinstripe or dark red, and simple penny loafers for occasions requiring generic black attire.
Can't really rec anything for you personally though, sorry.
Also tassels are made of AIDS and fail. ;)

They are a little pricy, but for the quality it's better to invest in one pair that lasts rather than replace them every year and spend the same amount. Plus I can snag a new pair on eBay for around $260.

I dunno, 300 dollar shoes are no different that 100 dollar shoes. "quality" is one of those words people throw around when they want to justify spending more on want than need.
Inb4 expert shoe experts insist $$$ is better than $

$$$ is marginally better than $
it's hard to pay under like $200 for a good quality, good looking dress shoe fax of life

My friend has a pair of shoes with bows of them instead of tassels. They look super gay lol which is kinda funny because he is hairy all over and big in a lumberjack kinda way (like manlyfat, know what I mean?).
I want to get some penny loafers from an op shop, they look really euro 90s

Cap-toes are more versatile, but wingtips are a lot better looking in my opinion. They're just not as formal, while you can wear a Park Avenue in pretty much every setting a dress shoe is needed.

Also, eBay, especially for Allen Edmonds in popular styles.
