Topic: What do you folks think of Occupy?

Aileron !LUFRSd346Y started this discussion 15 years ago #15,708

I'm just curious. They occupied our office a few weeks back, and completely turned me off the movement even more so than before. I'm sorry, if you haven't worked in 20 years you're unemployable.

bit of a vicious circle there

also they trashed our city centre and then disappeared into the night and left all their rubbish behind

It's a double edged sword, as much as I'm impressed with how many people actually gathered, the amount of clueless hipsters is just lol.

Yeah, half the amount of people and strategically placed explosives would get the job done far better.

A reform is needed indeed, but I'm loosing hope that the occupy movement will bring it...

This is by far the best type of instant noodles, and the best way to prepare them:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdbNlWsRcX4

You mix the flavouring up in a bowl separate from the boiling noodles, then you drain the noodles of all water and tip them into the flavouring.

So yum

Introducing: Occupyâ„¢ Instant Noodles!

Directions:
1. Heat noodles
2. Mix flavoring in bowl separate from the boiling noodles
3. Drain noodles of all water and tip them into the flavoring
4. Discard bowl and noodle container on ground when finished eating

Perfect for protests! Even if you get arrested or go home, your noodle container will continue to fight the man by occupying the city streets long after you leave!

It’s fair. Many active occupiers bathe less frequently and are less likely to use fragrances than the general population. Plus, many of them smoke cigarettes and eat foods that cause them to sweat different scents than others.

Mr, Walsh's exuberance notwithstanding, government intervention was an inextricable element of the housing bubble. I also think you can provide much more constructive contributions to the debate over the shrinking middle class than sitting in a park, getting high, drinking, having sex and harassing me with a drum circle when I leave my office.

The line between big banking, corporations and our government has become so thin it's nearly transparent. Washington gave the banks exactly what they wanted... Many of the people involved with OWS feel like the situation is nearly hopeless, the people in this country have slowly lost power to the corporations in this country. Their voice is heard better on the streets than in the ballot boxes.

The shrinking middle class isn't some big complicated mystery. It's pretty hard to eat when the big fish take all the food.

People haven't lost power to corporations. People have lost power to the state, who uses that power to benefit corporations. The only solution is to limit the power of the state.

> The shrinking middle class isn't some big complicated mystery. It's pretty hard to eat when the big fish take all the food.
Fuck you're dumb. Making profits does not take from other people. Wealth is not zero sum. The only place this applies is socialism, ironically what many OWS advocate.
