@OP
There are 60 apple trees in an orchard. Each apple tree produces 720 apples annually. For each additional tree planted in the orchard, the number of apples produced per tree drops by 10 apples per year. How many trees need to be added to the orchard in order to maximize the total amount of apples produced each year?

no, like why is your "soul" in your body, and not some other one? Why are you you, and not someone else.
also: why am I me and not someone else?

@273,457 (vocalon !RVtoegPubI)
That's the question.

@273,464 (squeegee !hbZVTk6JYc)
the ursa major is best bear
the correct equation I think is 60*720-10*(n(n+1)/2)+60*n
max of that is n=11/2.
so either 5 or 6 trees, the answer should be the same.

@273,484 (F) @previous (F)
Number of added trees = x
10 lost apples per added tree -> 720-10x
Apple number function = (60+x)*(720-10x)
Obviously it's a sad parabola that crosses the x-axe at (-60,0) and (72,0) ... reaching max at x=6... so exactly 6 trees to maximise production...
Come on, it's simple maths, I did it in my head while reading the task :D
