TL;DR:
One group of Jews recorded their oral, historical myths in written form.
Another group of Jews recorded their oral, historical myths in written form.
Some other Jews, likely the group known as the “Yaweh†authors, combined and edited some of the earlier myths.
Later, more Jews and some Christians further edited these myths into a more coherent book that isn’t entirely perfect.
One group of Jews recorded their oral, historical myths in written form.
Another group of Jews recorded their oral, historical myths in written form.
Some other Jews, likely the group known as the “Yaweh†authors, combined and edited some of the earlier myths.

Read genesis. It's like the first chapter. It starts with creation, gets all the way to man -and then goes back and tells it again but in a different way. 2 different versions of the same creation story in the first fucking chapter of the the bible.

The big differences if i remember correctly are in the order god created things, how man was made, how woman was made, and mans role (dominion over animals vs. Not mentioning it at all.)

Here's what really happened:
One group of Jews sat down to a meal infested with magic mushrooms while another group of Jews sat down to a mean infested with psychedelic bread mold. They tried to consolidate their stories but in the end the only thing they could agree upon was that baby penises must be sliced up to look like mushrooms. An apparent win for the magic mushroom camp.

The Hebrew beliefs began to be officially codified after the Persian conquest of Babylonia, and the return of the exiles. This texts themselves were largely static by the 2nd century BC, although the "canon" was loose and undefined (although a core body of writing was almost universally recognized, different sects included other texts as equally authoritative).
