there are many of these for sale locally and i keep finding one's id like to buy, but the parentals think im better off saving up for a newer car. so i cant go see the car and maybe buy it because i cant go there with them.they're thinking maybe a kia or hyundai or something. but is a 95 civic really going to let me down? im not gonna buy one with like 200k mi on it, maybe 120 or 150k, but damn i dont think this would let me down every month with new repair bills.
i gotta get the fuck out of tujunga MC, and I won't be able to this spring if i buy a newer car.

Well.. Hondas will run forever, but that's already a lot of miles. You can push them to 200k easy, and repairs are cheap cause parts are in abundance, but you would probably do better with a newer Honda. 2000+ 25 years for a civic... who knows how well the previous owners cared for it. Civics attract a certain type of person.

Civics are generally abused like V8 "neo muscle cars" anymore. 150k is very high for any car, although Japanese cars are tough to kill, you have to realize that a car with high mileage, you will dump more money over time than if you paid more for a car with lower miles and a newer model year. If its owned by a teenager you can expect the price of maintenance to skyrocket, because teenagers a fucking retarded when it comes to caring for cars. If it has an aftermarket radio, expect that the wiring will be all butchered to hell. If its a manual, expect the syncros and the clutch to be worn out.
For a first car to learn on, its great, you can trash it and not be in crushing debt, if you want reliability however, don't buy a car less than 10 years old.
