I try to make a call and it closes out. Even after two clean reinstalls. :/ What do?

I had the same problem. Uninstall Skype and reinstall with version 5.7 beta and it should work.

Yep, most mobile phone's have a skype app available at no cost. Those skype phones are interesting to maybe replace landlines with, though.
