interestingly enough the only dude i can't dungeon without a companion is a block/1h heavy armor dude. he does sick damage and can block anything and take a real beatdown, but if there's a caster anywhere he's pretty much toast if it's not one on one. 3 melee, 2 ranged and a caster or two require i bring a companion.
either that or unrealistically exploit pathing and do retarded pulls, which is kinda lame. like standing on a rock to kill a giant with arrows. lame.

Protip: give her top-tier armour and a top-tier weapon. Companions sort of them later on, especially if they're melee fighters.
