My current character's kind of a mage. I use restoration spells all of the time and sometimes fire spells, but I do most of my fighting with my trusty mace.

Specialize more. I made a dual wielding dagger rogue more than viable.
I also made a mage that's stong as shit. The rogue was a cake walk on expert and mage is even easier. Don't wear plate, don't get stamina, don't use weapons for melee or bows. I suggest full destructo/conjuration with enough ppints in resto to get 1/2 spell cast -then level enchanting or something. But don't put any points in any kind of armor, if they get close enough to melee you then you're doing it wrong. Also, wards are pretty good option if you take no armor skills.

No, he's a pure thief with points in pickpocket and lockpicking and speech. He's not really a great leveler, kinda weak. I started over and minmaxed an assasination rogue with pure sneak, 1 handed, and archery for the sneak bonus to stealth kills.
Daggers will 1 shot most humanoids if you get the perk for it in sneak.
