Sure, why wouldn't they? It's a fun time. Half the Western world (especially in Europe) celebrates March 8th, Women's Day. Does it matter to most of those people that it began as a Jewish holiday? Life can be tough sometimes - any excuse for some peace, love and happiness is fine with me.

Essentially it's just a day off work (in most of Europe at least) and a day when guys give all the women in their lives flowers. It's a nice day.

I have no idea. But what I'm trying to say is, this; Christmas is not so much the celebration of Jesus' birth anymore. It is a time of goodwill and happiness and a time to give and recieve presents. It's just a time to be nice to be everyone and encourge peace etc. You don't need to be christian to support a day of peace, happiness and kindness.

Not really. Women's Day is a European holiday, along with Valentine's Day, which is also celebrated. Many cultures have several holidays which celebrate love, growth, peace, regeneration, etc, at the end of winter. It is no coincidence that holidays such as Valentine's Day and Women's Day come at the beginning of spring, i.e, new life. Most of them have Pagan origins, Easter being the most famous.
Besides which, Women's Day differs to Valentine's Day in that it is not necessarily a day of romance, it is simply a day to honour the female (the regenerative force - again, it has its roots in Paganism).
If a person doesn't know any women...well, I dunno. I've nevert heard of anyone who didn't know any women. But if such a person exists, I guess they just skip Women's Day, much the same as someone without a Valentine skips Valentine's Day.
