Nice message on foreign policy. I generally agree. Except...

"Americans want to honor the veterans in a very.. cursory way"
Well, yeah. Sorry. You're a soldier. You are a hired killer. The fact that you have picked up a gun and decided to go out and murder people doesn't justify your opinion that our foreign policy is a joke. In fact, it reinforces the idea that you have no fucking clue what is going on. I'm sorry. You fucked up. I agree with what you are saying now, but don't expect me to take you seriously ever. Blind servitude is not something to be proud of.

One particular objection in the video is probably worth noting: isolatism probably is bad. The video really offers no answer to this. What exactly is our foreign policy? What is Paul's plan? Just completely withdraw? What? What is the plan? Oil? Trade? What is the plan here?

I agree with the idea that our foreign policy is causing more problems than it is solving, but can we get somone less batshitinsane than Ron Paul to say this? Please?

I love Ron Paul as a person. I honestly do. He's one of the only politicians I can name who's actually incredibly intelligent, dead honest, and, most importantly, gets shit done. He does, or legitimately attempts to do, every single thing he says he will.

That just makes it worse when I find myself disagreeing with every fucking word that comes out of his mouth.

Ron Paul isn't batshitinsane. The people who support the failed policies of interventionism label him as such to defend against criticism of their actions.

I agree with your appraisal of soldiers - the man in the video was merely pointing out that Americans love to claim to honor the soldiers, but in reality they don't.

Paul's plan is not isolationism, but non-interventionism. Isolationism is the cutting of diplomatic contact and the ending of trade - two things Paul strongly supports. He would end the occupation of foreign countries, and end the military aid. America could once again be an example that the people of the world could aspire to for their own countries and government. The only thing people aspire to now is to have enough guns, bombs and soldiers to defend themselves against US aggression.
