It has, in fact, been proven that any transsexual person's brain activity and chemistry more closely resembles the gender they identify as, rather than the gender they were designated as at birth. This is considered to be the most likely cause of the gender dysphoria to begin with. In addition, the only true chemical difference between the two sexes are each gender's level of respective sex hormones; testosterone and estrogen. HRT, for a trans woman, comprises an anti-androgen and an estrogen compound of some kind (usually estradiol).

You don't get "designated" a gender at birth.

Have a little read of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex-determination_system#XX.2FXY_sex_chromosomes

LatestDude !!nEftABMoF replied with this 15 years ago, 3 minutes later, 18 hours after the original post[^] [v] #266,324

@266,321 (G)
You consider every naturally-infertile cisgendered female a dude, too, then?

@previous (H)
The only purpose of those chromosomes is to instruct the body regarding the proper distribution of sex hormones. In addition, there are birth mutations in cisgendered individuals all the time, regarding chromosomes. Extra sex chromosomes, the lack of a sex chromosome... it does not make them any lesser.

Anonymous G replied with this 15 years ago, 1 minute later, 18 hours after the original post[^] [v] #266,325

LatestDude !!nEftABMoF replied with this 15 years ago, 2 minutes later, 18 hours after the original post[^] [v] #266,326

@previous (G)
The reason for both: a birth defect. Same as any naturally-infertile cisgendered female. Neither can be fixed, and both suck for the individual that has to come to terms with it. It does not make either less of a female.

The body decides which sex you are upon conception. No amount of surgery or therapy can change that.

Just because someone decides they want tits doesn't mean the can tell biology to get fucked and change from male to female.

Not the same thing at all. One started out as a gender that can't produce children, the other just has a defect.

Just to point it out, you're kind of saying that being born male is a birth defect there. :P

You completely ignored the points that I had made in order to reiterate your own ignorant and incorrect preconception of transgendered individuals. Even if we did go with your argument, the fact that, on a scientific level, trans men/women think and act like natal men/women, significantly more than the gender they were designated at as birth, in addition to the psychiatric acceptance of gender dysphoria as a mental condition, should muddy your binary preconceptions of gender.

LatestDude !!nEftABMoF double-posted this 15 years ago, 2 minutes later, 19 hours after the original post[^] [v] #266,330

@266,328 (G)
A cisgendered, infertile female was born with a birth defect that led to the infertility. A transgendered, infertile female was born with a birth defect that led to the infertility. Neither are less of a person/woman because of this fact, regardless of how much it may suck to have to live with.

Men would not be considered to have a birth defect because, biologically, men are not supposed to be able to become pregnant.

I need to personally request that you please become a bit more open-minded about this subject, and allow me to attempt to change your mind. Sex and gender are not as binary as you would like to believe, as I have attempted to explain to you. Please open yourself to understanding this, even a little. Transsexuals are not "unhappy" with whichever gender they were designated as at birth, nor do they simply "want tits" (or the trans male equivalent). Gender dysphoria is a legitimate, potentially-crippling condition, for which transitioning is the only clear solution. Trans people were very much born that way.

I don't see how that's particularly hurtful. It's blunt, sure. Sorry if it casued any offence, but we are on a chan.

It's okay Nick, I forgive you. <3

They are born female. With a vagina.

I only ever applied the giving birth requirement to men who transition over. You're the one who brought in barren women and such.

@266,421 (LatestDude !!nEftABMoF)
I'm only talking about the physical stuff. I'm saying that a man who transitions is never truly a woman in the biological, physical sense.

How is brain development not physical/biological?

But gender identity disorder is considered a birth defect isn't it? And if they aren't really women, then this means barren women aren't women either.

But this is probably a good indication that I'm being trolled.

Different things. A mental condition has nothing to do with the ability to have kids.

Birth gender is the crucial point that I'm making here, and I'm only applying it to trans men to show that they can never (physically) truly be women. I never used it in the context of barren woman, they are a seperate issue.

A barren woman, hypothetically, could have children if the condition were cured. Whereas with a man they do not have a physical defect, just the wrong birth gender for kids.

MTF transsexuals are trans women. Trans men are FTM.

Trans men can get pregnant because they were women before they transitioned, but I'm pretty much arguing with a troll at this point.
So I'm not going to ask anymore questions.

But they couldn't ejaculate into a woman and make a baby. Not sure why you brought that up, but it's the same issue but reversed.

Why am I a troll? All I did was debate my view, just like you were doing.

If asking questions is considered debating and you do realize trannies had normal reproduction systems, right?

They can always bank sperm and there was a pregnant "man".

lolno

@266,706 (A)
Hmmm? The point I'm making is that transitions aren't 100% effective, since the person can't fufill the reproductive function of their 'new' gender. Therefore they aren't fully, biologically the opposite gender. Yes they had normal reproduction systems for their gender, but when they transition they still have these, just for the wrong gender.

The 'man' who was pregnant was originally a woman though, so it's no different than if she had banked sperm given birth without transitioning. In fact it's more proof that one can never truly escape their birth gender.

I thought you said reproduction wasn't necessary for one to be male or female?
Now it is all of a sudden?
Am I still a male if it turns out that I am sterile?

> The 'man' who was pregnant was originally a woman though
Why do you think I put "man" in quotations?
