Topic: My name is Google and all I do is change for the sake of change
Anonymous A started this discussion 15 years ago#14,784
I just can't STAND the idea of people being used to a Web site so I must alienate the users at every single Goddamn moment by forcing huge changes on them without offering an opt-in beta first!

All right, let's look at it in parts:
LEFT SIDE
"Add channels" button: worthless. I'll never touch this shit. I add channels when I find stuff I like. I don't read a dumb recommended list with shit like VEVO, Fred or whatever and say "oh, I want to watch this crap."
Subscriptions: first two buttons are Google+ and Facebook. I don't want any of this here (what the hell are these two buttons doing here anyway?), and I hate sharing what I do. I can't remove this crap. This is followed by a list of the pinned subs, which is a horrible way to navigate through subscriptions anyway.
"From YouTube": another way for YouTube to shove content down my throat. I'll never use any of this.
"Suggested Channels": the same thing all over again. It just recommends me content from Brazil because I'm a Brazilian. In fact, I'm actively avoiding all this shit because there's nothing good coming from here.
MIDDLE COLUMN
It only shows one single video from each subscription, and there's no way to remove items I'm not interested in. And by items, I mean individual videos too, not everything new by a channel, which I'm betting is how they'll add this function back. ಠ_à²
RIGHT SIDE
More "Recommended" crap I'll never care about. Shit that's popular in YouTube in general and in Brazil. Bah.
Veredict: YouTube is even less about "you" now. It's just desperately polluting every page with shit you don't care about.
It's just like trying to find a channel to watch on TV when there are 50 TVs all around you playing crap. And you don't know which remote is which.

It's always done internet searches for me well enough. That's all I need from it really.

YouTube is fucking the widescreen users over by not using both min-width:*px and width:*%.

I like it. It's given me some good recommendations and I've already subscribed to a couple of them. > Subscriptions: first two buttons are Google+ and Facebook. I don't want any of this here (what the hell are these two buttons doing here anyway?), and I hate sharing what I do.
Yeah I agree with you there. > It only shows one single video from each subscription
It doesn't for me, some have 4 or more videos.
I pretty much agree with everything else. Things should definitely be more customizable.

Google here. We really only do that so tons of people will bitch and moan necessary increasing our overall share of what's being discussed. You see we've learned something running the world's greatest search engine: trolling is the future.

Yeah, we didn't like that either. But it cause a good deal of bitching within the focus groups so we decided it had to stay.
Remember, it's not a bug, it's a feature.

I'd make the design more streamline with Google's theme of their pages rather than some ugly-ass clusterfuck. Also, keep in mind that a TEAM designed this mess of a redesign. An entire team was paid to fuck up YouTube. Again.

Here's an idea: if you don't like using a free service, then stop using said free service. Fucktard.

So if you're so fucking smart and know so fucking much OP, why don't you make your own illegal YouTube clone? You see you can't, and that's exactly why your opinion is totally fucking irrelevant. lol.

Look at all the Google Defense Force ITT. It's like you guys practically BEG for Google to fuck over your browsing experience simply because it's different from the status quo.
