Topic: I am going to rant about an ultra-religious teacher at my (public) school.

She spends large chunks of class time preaching, just without mentioning god. It's a class for getting prepared for the SAT, yet she spends half the class talking about ethics and morals and how people are so terrible if they don't align with her morals. She goes on about how people who have kids in high school are awful...and she did that when she had a father in the class. It's not an occasional thing, either. She spends large chunks of every class doing this. She preaches her batshit insane christianity through a veil. She's actually assigned a project that has nothing to do with the class: it's all about "finding out who we are, and what our ethics and morals are so we know who we'll be". And also, apparently, it's so she can see which of us will break her unflinching moral code.
On the list of things we have to do, we have to answer something about "our relationship with God". She said it but then rephrased it to "maker". She does that a lot. Talking about Anne Sullivan, she said, "Anne had to protect her siblings from homosexual molesters...and heterosexual ones too..". You don't phrase something like that. She only meant the first one, but felt she HAD to cover herself and put the second one in.
I don't know why I'm complaining about this, it just bothers me how she does this so much. She constantly goes on about it and brings up students in the past who broke away from her moral guidance.

Be an amoral heathen with reverse ethics, and then call all her arguments ad hominims and straw man arguments. Accuse her of character defamation and be a vocal atheist.
It'll be the best semester ever.

The weird thing is I'm the teacher's pet. She adores having me in class because I'm the smartest person there. I don't think she suspects me of being a blasphemer. On this project, though, I'm going to try to include some things she wouldn't agree with. We have to make a sheet of quotes we like in categories, and I'm considering putting this in the 'love quotes' category:
"That one can love another of the same gender, that is what the homophobe really cannot stand." - Stephen Fry

Any other ideas? I'm definitely making sections on science and reason. If I'm not up front about my lack of religion, I'll certainly set the stage for her to think that. If it does come down to the question on my relationship with Yahweh, Should I just explain I'm not religious or be really smug about it and go for Mithras or Saturn as my god?

I feel like she'd exorcise me with that response. At least by saying Saturn I can hit her mythology background.

Or profess your devotion to the Flying Spaghetti Monster while being completely serious and sincere. That'd be a good middleground.

Word gets around. A friend of mine reported a teacher for something similar in middle school and a teacher aide overheard her father speaking with the principal about it, and then told the teacher and just generally made a stink about it. The teacher personally apologised, but the teacher aide getting involved was a bit much. I feel like she'd find out it was me, somehow.

If I'm not mistaken, she is related to the one in charge of these kinds of things (They have a bunch of vice-principals who deal with different things, then just a figurehead sort of top principal).

Good point. I might just do this. I'm not the only person disturbed by it all, a number of Christians in the class also see it as really strange. That's how far she takes it. She alienates her own kind.

One thing I like about college is that you can call a teacher out on bullshit (when applicable, I never have), leave early, get shit grades, show up late, fall asleep, pee in the corner, whatever, and nobody can tell you to stop. As long as it's not disruptive like talking or something you're pretty much fine.
Don't just take it, make it a conversation and raise your hand. Tell her you think she's crazy. Add your voice to the lecture. Any good professor would want you to. And since she's not, show her how it's done.

I really just need to get it over with and stand up to her on this. I only have two weeks left in her class, so I don't have much to lose.
Also, something I just remembered: I've had numerous friends take her classes in the past, and they said she always asks at the beginning of the year if the students believe in god (through raised hands). I think she only does it in a particular class she teaches on myths, but still. She shouldn't really be asking that :/

Update on the quote thing I have to do.
My sections are about things like 'truth' and 'science'. I'm trying to fit another science section in which focuses on things within science rather than just science as a whole.
Also, I don't think I have a single quote from a Christian yet. Buddhists, but no Christians. I'm making a point to add in people either she has expressed dislike towards, or people she would dislike.

> and how people are so terrible if they don't align with her morals.
Everyone has the right to feel this way. It's how social evolution works. Each of us has a moral code we live by. We form little tribes with people with codes are similar to our own. These "tribes" are in competition with other "tribes" and success and failure determines whose moral code was best. Tada! Evolution.
I see nothing wrong with this. It's as it should be.

Why the fuck not? See that's another thing. You liberals really need to get over this idea that government fucking owes you something just because they take your money. Well newsflash, they fucking don't. They can use that money to finance CIA black ops and UN population control agendas that fuck you in the ass. And they fucking do.
Once they have it, it's their fucking money. If they want to pay ignorant holier than thou teachers that's their fucking business. And you know why? Because government's who's paying the bills sweetheart. If you don't like it you shouldn't have relinquished control of your money so easily in the first place.
