There's a difference between being honest and being unnecessarily rude. I could go to a funeral and say "Well at least that faggot won't be wasting any more of my oxygen!"; which is indisputably true, but nevertheless should not be said.

One that really gets people is my assertion that having a job is for stupid people who don't appreciate the promise of technology. In the future there'll be no jobs. If you don't own productive capital, you're fucked. This seems to really hurt people's feelings.

My point is possessing productive capital (the machine) is becoming infinitely more valuable than operating it. Yes this has been going on since the wheel, but exponential growth is a funny thing. At later and later stages of the game, it only becomes more and more important to adapt than before.

Oh, and then there was the time when I told my roommate he was wasting his time with his new boy toy.
Here's the deal. He's had this guy over twice and they've slept in the same bed. Well, he tells me they were naked but didn't have sex.
So I called him out. I said "either you are a liar or this man is a waste of your time." I can excuse a man for doing such a thing once, but if he sleeps over twice and doesn't at least demand a hand job he is useless for the long haul. Either he's desperate, dysfunctional or just not that into you.
That really pissed him off.
