Anonymous A started this discussion 15 years ago #14,625

I use it all the time when I am typing numbers.

I'd say about 85% of the time.

It's active constantly. I use it about once or twice every other day.

I hate having it off. The only time I've ever turned it off was on XP because they had this mode to use the numpad arrows to control the cursor.

About two years ago, I left my laptop unattended for a while in a coffee shop while I got up to buy a drink. I came back to find that all the numbers on the numeric keypad had been stolen while I was away. I knew I should be locking those numbers down while I wasn't around, but I never thought anything bad would happen. Now, I make sure I keep numlock on all the time while I am out and even while I am at home just to be sure the cat doesn't steal them while I am away.

Only for work. Otherwise, I never need to use long enough strings of numbers for the bumped to be of use.

I don't think I've ever used it.

Fucking this!

Call me fucking nerd if you must, but when I'm using a keyboard with a separate numeric keypad I prefer it to function as a GODDAMN NUMERIC KEYPAD.

On a laptop without one, I almost never use it.

Ah, I forgot where to look for it and couldn't find it so I assumed it wasn't on Windows 7.

@258,142 (K)
Same here. I don't understand why a lot of times I have to manually change it so it's on by default.
