I don't understand question. It's implying that you can not be sad. I thought that was just in movies.

It isn't as easy for some people to just "get up and do it."

Depression can be severly limiting. Some people with depression are on disability because it is so severe.

They could be, but it isn't the reason why they can not do things you think they should.

If you don't understand why something is the way it is, don't try to fit into the context of your own reality. Your reality is minuscule.

Anonymous E replied with this 15 years ago, 3 minutes later, 1 hour after the original post[^] [v] #2,635

@2,610 (Homestar !RUNNERV7vk)
I understand that. I guess you just really need to want it to accomplish your goals. Good luck buddy, I have faith :-D

@2,617 (jump !VIfloDyEYo)
Okay? So they should just remain sedentary only to grow more depressed then? Exercise and diet is the best and most natural way to relieve depression. Yeah it takes hard work and requires getting off your butt, but it's so worth it.

Or, you can just go ahead and continue feeling sorry for yourself, eating badly, and staying home all the time. That'll definitely help!

That wasn't an insult. Everyoen's reality is pretty small. Some of us are better at understanding that, the majority don't seem able to though.

What didn't you agree with? Are you saying people with depression should just stop trying because they're going to be ruled by their mood anyway?

Anonymous L replied with this 15 years ago, 54 minutes later, 7 hours after the original post[^] [v] #2,700

@previous (Homestar !RUNNERV7vk)

No, the problem is in how you approach the issue. I feel that most people with depression can get back on their feet with some help but most people who care enough to confront them about it are incapable of seeing something from somebody else's perspective and bawwwww get over yourself get a job lazy faggot and all that noise (not that anybody ITT went there, i'm talking about retards like TheSheep); the only excuse depression victims have is the one they're given. It really is a nasty little cycle.

No. I see what you're saying, and I know how tough it can be to do things when you're not feeling 100% (emotionally and phsyically)--I've been there. I'm just challenging what you're saying because I do feel like almost everyone is capable of pulling themselves out of the holes they've dug for themselves.

I tend to hold that depression is something one does to themselves, and can be repaired through a lot of things other than just pills and chemicals. Some people do in fact have chemical imbalances and need anti-depressants, I admit this, but I truly feel like the majority of people don't.

After getting that out there, what is it that you think I'm misunderstanding?
