Topic: The people of Skyrim need me!

dreamworks !AIy/L67q.s started this discussion 15 years ago #14,286

but how do I get rich without having to steal from the people?

Anonymous B joined in and replied with this 15 years ago, 4 minutes later[^] [v] #253,365

I would answer this but you just started playing Skyrim so you will not see.

I had problems with money too for a while.

Best way to get lots of gold is bounty missions and selling off every enemy weapon you can carry.

Also keep an eye out for scaled helmets. They're very light but sell for a lot of gold. You can usually find them on Stormcloak soldiers.

Find the Transmute spell in Halted Stream Camp (North of Whiterun). Mine/buy/steal a lot of iron ore. Use transmute to turn the iron ore into silver ore, then gold ore. Make gold ingots. Make gold necklaces for 1 gold ingot a piece. Sell gold necklaces.

Do you know if it's possible to run a Ponzi scheme yet?

No ;_;

It would be a fun little mini-game. In fact the entire economy system of TES is fucked. You should find that with each gold necklace you sell they become worth less and less.

Would a single smith who can't really mass produce affect the economy of whole cyrodiil?

Anonymous B replied with this 15 years ago, 4 minutes later, 40 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #253,384

@previous (r04r)

If you flood the local economy then demand there would plummet, and you'd notice it in surrounding areas as well. Eventually, you'll have been to every market in Skyrim and left them swimming in gold.

That'd be the case if there wouldn't be enough of export, and you could get your hands on enough gold to do such.

But yes, it's not realistic. That's why it's called a game ;)

Anonymous B replied with this 15 years ago, 4 minutes later, 52 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #253,392

@previous (r04r)

I think exports are on a hold since they're in the middle of a collapsing empire and civil war.

And dammit, I want to break a games economy! Maybe they could make it one of those cheese-wheel games from Oblivion.

Kill dragons, sell the bones and scale if you aren't doing smithing.

What's wrong with stealing from people? Just rob everything, there's free gold everywhere. And if you level pickpocket high enough then you can steal people's weapons and armor so if they catch you they can't do shit but slap at you.

Anonymous H joined in and replied with this 15 years ago, 4 minutes later, 16 hours after the original post[^] [v] #253,972

anything that doesn't say "steal X" you can safely take because the people are basically giving it to you

they want you to take their things

floorboard !hbZVTk6JYc replied with this 15 years ago, 2 minutes later, 16 hours after the original post[^] [v] #253,973

Right, but you can also just "steal X" because, you know, they don't need it.

He should level a resto/priest and get a bunch of companions, equip them with armor and shit and just let them tank and do damage while you heal them.

...

Actually, would that work? Can I do that?
