the government should keep bailing out the companies but on a permanent basis (aka buy all important companies) and make everything be free, because why the fuck not don't we have stuff for everybody?
a car in every garage (garage provided) and a chicken in every pot (pot sold separately but for free)
to promote a sense of community there could be community facilities like kitchens and shared living spaces in addition to your free government dormitory.
tax payers already subsidize every industry in the country so it should all be free

and there would still be a free market of sorts
but it would look a lot different with every basic need met by default
we're pretty close to having robot workers for everything too
so everything would be a lot nicer if we were already a socialist world
