I am thinking of buying a 91/30 or an M44. Does anybody have any experience with these rifles? If so, any tips or advice on finding one that hasn't had the dog shit shot out of it?
I know this probably isn't the place to ask about firearms but I figure someone might own one of these here, seeing as how common they have become.

Even if you put price aside, it is a very well built rifle. Parts are plentiful, as well as the ammunition. The more I research it, the more attractive the rifle becomes.

I can see owning a gun being like owning a car, you'd want all parts easily available and you'd want it easy to run. Plus, on World at War, the mosin Nagant is a head shot machine.

It is common sense. However, like I said before, price and reliability are a very big factor. There is a reason why this rifle was produced from 1891 to the early 1970's.

I've never owned one (I'm an AK-47 guy myself) but I have heard they are pretty good weapons. Rifles like that were built well and if the price is right and parts are plentiful I say go for it.

No, I don't think. I'm not exactly sure what the one I owned was. I bought it from a "friend." Really cheap. Those rifles are fucking perfect. They never ever jammed. I've had M-16's jam everytime I have ever fired one but the AK was always reliable. The only thing that sucked was that the barrel would heat up very easily. Other than that it was flawless.

They're very good and rarely ever jam. However, the recoil will knock you into next week.
