The thing sitting in front of you already proves humans are capable of reaching levels of sophistication similar to that of nature, it is not much of a logical leap to suggest that we will at one point be able to design organisms then incorporate other technology to create new forms of life, consciousness life with intelligence and abilities far beyond our own.If good means what is good for conscious beings then it makes sense to replace humanity with this new form of conscious life, this way there will be no more 6 year olds dying of typhoid fever in the slums of Dhaka, neither will there be 80 year olds dying of old age because they will not have telomeres and programmed cell death, with this in mind it is far more ethical to use your charity money to invest in a biomed company. The only ethical reason to give to the poor would be if it ultimately aids technological development, for instance testing everyone in Dhaka for signs of gifted intelligence then promptly scooping up all their geniuses, educating them and setting them to work in R&D, anything else is just a waste of resources that could be better used elsewhere.
