It was like a sitcom! About 5 of us went in to this shop because someone wanted to buy some MTG or Warcraft cards or something and there is this deal on where you sign up to the newsletter and get a free 30-card deck, so almost all of us came out clutching MTG cards! I chose blue magic.

Nice. I had a white+blue deck. Blue were my attacking creatures/spells and white were my heal/stall ones. That game was a shitload of fun. If I were 13 I'd be playing it right now probably.

I think I'm going to go for a blue + red intro pack. I'm not sure whether I should play physically or online, though. They should make it easy to do both. Not sure who they'd manage it.

I've never played online so I can't help you there. I find most card games are more fun if you're physically in the room with the other person though.

I remember when Pokemon got big. They were banned from our school because of wild rumours about people being mugged for them. We never played it properly anyway, IIRC it was just reading the attack and deducting the points from the opponent's HP.

We played pogs in middle school. I would have played magic if I discovered it a year or two earlier than I did.
I played a little yu-gi-oh online (was some game I got for free in a shonen jump). It was really fun. There is strategy involved.
