They aren’t calling it but his lead keeps growing. At this point I’m convinced he’s gonna win, sue me.

It was 28 something then 43 something then a thousand something now it’s more like two thousand something. He’s gonna win.

Ever been there? I drove through parts with wooden stilt houses and outhouses. It felt like I had driven through a time warp to 1920. I’ve been to civil rights sites and it’s plaques, one room museums, and ruins. Sad. Figures the money whites are happy to let it decay, considering the history of the State Sovereignty Commission.

I find the United States to be very confusing even though I’ve lived here my whole life. There are billionaires (one trillionaire) we’re building all these AI datacenters and reusable rockets and are supposedly the most advanced nation, but then I drive through some places and it looks poor. Especially if you ride a train, most people don’t, but all the factories are by the railroads not the highway. The amount of abandoned decaying factories is incredible.

Offshoring. Unlike much of Europe, most of the cities you’re talking about were built around certain industries.

Of course, now they’re calling datacenters "AI factories" which primarily generate data on computers (images, text, video) that doesn’t physically exist. If the past is any indication of the future, I wouldn’t be surprised if someday we’re going to be driving past abandoned warehouses that once had trillions of dollars worth of GPUs the same way you can take a train past abandoned factory after abandoned factory after abandoned factory. Except by then the economy will be even bigger and there will be even more homeless people.

I guess the thing that makes me feel nervous about the modern American economic system, is it works, but it isn’t real. We are the wealthiest country because we own the favorites that are in other countries that make the stuff we make our weapons from. In an actual war, this whole economic game we’re playing where we’re so above manufacturing we can just have other counties build everything and we own the factories and ship it back to America, I’m not sure it will work no matter how smart our AI is.

Like for instance, a fighter jet. The most advanced chips are made in Taiwan. If a war breaks out between China and Taiwan, how do we make a fighter jet? Of course there’s Intel… it just feels fragile I guess. We have this ego like nothing could ever happen, but nobody in America knows how to make anything anymore.

Like it works, as long as everybody plays by the rules. It’s fine to manufacture everything overseas, as long as other countries respect that you own the factory. What if Mexico was like, "These car plants in Mexico are Mexican factories owned by Mexico now." Or if China was like, "We’re going use our missiles to blow up TSMC." Then what? How do we fight a war? With our sheer AI data center might?????
