I have a fairly uncommon surname but everyone who does is either a inventer, scientist or otehr high achiever that contributes to the betterment of society.

I mean, you're hardly going to Google a surname and find the average Joes sitting at the top of the results. You're going to get the scientists, the engineers, the authors, the published academics - the people who are actually noteworthy, and therefore more likely to feature on the pages of reputable, established websites and more likely to have a higher volume of searches against their name (both of which Google loves). The bricklayers and Universal Credit recipients don't stand a chance.
