Truly. Less was more. They also vacillated on tech. The show maintains the aesthetic. I didn’t even realize the timeline in Prometheus. And they’re all just slasher films now.
Uncut Aliens is the best. The crucial minutes chopped have more impact.

As I think about it, the retconned backstory is nowhere on the level of The Expanse.
Plus nobody in Aliens seems to understand biocontainment. They have level 4 hazards but there’s a vent shaft in the same room. There’s never a flamethrower or gas rig to kill the specimens. Nobody is posted as guard. Anyone with a key card can access.

@previous (C)
this is largely why i so dispise the horror genre so much, it relies on artificially making the characters retarded in order to facilitate borderline snuff films. this shit cant be healthy to anybody that watches it.

That’s a good point. Nobody has common sense in horror films, by and large. It Follows was an exception. But most lean into tropes of knocking down a slasher / monster then running away to be chased again. Or going into the dark and shouting hello. Fuck, I don’t even rent a weekend cabin without going armed.
