Topic: annoying gimmick with many cheap and not-so-cheap radios you can buy currently -- tiny SD card playe

player. The ability to play music files is welcome. But the way they implement it is annoying. Firstly, the SD card slot is always for the tiny fucking god damn form, and not the standard size. Put the standard size slot in there, you fucks. Nextly, the type of display is not capable of allowing you to see folder and file names so you can do that most basic of navigation you would expect for usability. The ability to record is rare, though I've seen that a couple of new models can do that.

I tried setting up a Raspberry Pi with a small screen and ran into similar issues: not as nice as a PC or phone for music.

Oh, lots of these radios have USB slots too, but they can't be bothered to give the ability to play files off of a stick. For Christ sake designers, use your fuckin heads

I remember music shops getting pitched the "Oh, digital won't ruin your entire business model. Customers will just walk in with a USB stick and download from your store!!!" They got boned pretty hard :D.

I still don't know if the USB port in my car is just for power or can play files... maybe I'll get that mystery sorted this weekend
