Ah, the tilling of the soil, the composting, mulching where appropriate... where does one begin?! Grapes went well this year; birds didn't eat them all this time. The rest was seasonal: radish, potato, lettuce and bok choy for spring, bell pepper and tomato for summer, and radish and green onion for fall.
It doesn't save money over grocery store, but it's fresh and steady food supply in case the system fails (and good eating anyway if it doesn't).
