My APD stands for auditory processing disorder. My physical hearing is normal, but the neurological aspect is faulty, so I can't discern between background noise and what I am listening to. They originally thought it was ADD, but at school, the damn AC was too loud. I also tap my feet, but that's because I work better to a rhythm.

Most of my teachers also thought I was stupid in elementary school. They were the stupid ones. My first grade teacher called my mother because she was disturbed by the poem I wrote in class. I felt the assignment was a waste of mental effort, so I wrote the lyrics to "Help!" by the Beatles, verbatim. She thought I was depressed. She got trolled, by a 6-year-old. The only teacher who realized how smart I was was my music teacher, who realised my "nervous tapping" was actually a complex rhythmic pattern.

Correct. I am not very good at asking for a raise due to my cringing attitude when around people and inability to actually speak more than three words at a time. I was lucky to get the job I have--most employers won't hire a man who seems to only say, "Uh, um, yes, okay, sure" during an interview.

I'm very nervous around people I don't know well.
I've never been diagnosed with a mental disorder, though. To be fair, even if I had one, my mom probably wouldn't have let them test me. She didn't even let me get glasses for 8 years.

I take a cocktail of drugs, multiple times a day...I hate it, and am sick of it all :(

Forgot to add a branch IED (all symptoms except the physical damage part) since I normally associate that with the Anxiety...as well as neurological nerve damage in my eyes that resulted from having encephalitis (same as why I have Hypotonia). I forget what they called it...but I can't see things straight or on level that they actually are in reality, even with glasses.
Fml.

I know. I don't bring it up unless asked or posting in a thread such as this one. I see people shout their "diagnosis" out at the top of their lungs every second they get. I don't understand why people think it's cool/fun to have such things...if they actually did, they wouldn't want them.

I see. It is a shame that it is so overdiagnosed and WebMD certainly didn't help with the situation.

It really sucks having ADHD, but Asperger's is tolerable. Maybe that is just due to the tremendous amounts of therapy I had as a kid.

I had classic symptoms, and when I've tried meds for it (recreationally) I did feel like I could think clearly and my thoughts don't race. It could just be the way those drugs effect me though.
