I think the same American dumbshits who voted for Trump will vote to keep Republicans in the majority because the majority of Americans are truly, genuinely stupid.

What about the US vs China? In any respect, economically, militarily, technologically, etc. I’m slightly concerned that the latest round of AI slop will reduce the incentive to innovate because it will be harder to profit off of software that isn’t cloud based due to reverse engineering. Currently, the US and China are the two best countries at software and AI. Although the US economy is ahead of the Chinese economy and China has demographic problems… the US has demographic problems that are worse than what most people realize though if you google our birth rate (per woman per 100,000 isn’t very hseful). Do you think we might swap places?

The US will collapse from within. The Chinese are very smart and play the long game. They already know that Trump is destroying the US from within. All the Chinese have to do is wait a little while.

I’ve constantly been having the feeling that it doesn’t make sense this thing holds together, but it just keeps going somehow. Am I stupid or do you think the current situation is actually unsustainable. I feel like I’m being gaslit that actually one guy having a trillion dollars and unprofitable AI companies being worth trillions of dollars and having a president who posts on the internet about destroying civilization is actually economically viable and maybe I just don’t get it.

I know I sound like I’m being sarcastic there, but I’m genuinely wondering if there’s something I don’t get about how things work. Is there some rule that if you have more than a billion dollars you can do anything and it works no matter how stupid it sounds?

I’m not sure if he has though. It’s crazy, when I’ve had to interact with my state government, my state government is surprisingly efficient and competent, but the federal government can’t answer a phone call on hold for 6 hours.
