Toby isn't a person. It's a style of meat carving. Toby meat carving was invented in the 1800s by a man names Charles Peddleton. The style focused on speed rather than the precision of old carving techniques. Toby carving took the UK by storm and before the end of the 1820s every UK butcher had adopted this carving technique.
