Topic: Navier-Stokes

OpenAI proved that the Navier-Stokes equations can break down and produce a singularity. I googled it though and apparently this actually has no real world use case because the Navier-Stokes equations are actually an approximation of fluids work that pretends that fluids are continuous and not made out of atoms, so in real life fluids actually can’t break down into a singularity.

So that’s neat.

When I heard that a fluid can break down into a singularity, my first thought was, that doesn’t make sense.

Turns out, they can’t.
