Topic: The rules of war don’t make sense

Anonymous A started this discussion 2 hours ago #138,271

It’s not against international law to use fire in warfare, but it is against international law to use chemicals in warfare. So you can shoot somebody or set them on fire, but you can’t gas them because somehow that’s worse?

Or you can shoot people who are already wounded as long as it’s on the first pass through, but if you leave and come back now it’s a war crime? That doesn’t make sense.

Or at least that’s the rules based interpretation of when it’s okay to kill wounded soldiers. As in, it’s a war crime if anybody else does it, except us.

Like in World War Two for example, when the Japanese did it to us, that was bad. But when we do it now, it’s not bad. Because that’s how it works, duh.
