By the way, if you want to learn German, it starts off deceptively easy, because it so similar to English. At first it just seems like it’s English minus the French words with the addition of three grammatical genders, and formal and informal pronouns. But then you get to the point where they start talking about German grammar, and they tell you that in English every sentence has SVO word order, but in German, you can change the word order of the sentence based on which word for "the" you use. I watched Triumph of the Will from start to finish for some assignment. I know Erik is trying to be edgy or whatever, but Hitler’s speeches are sort of just generic patriotic / nationalistic rambling. In Triumph of the will there are maybe only one or two lines that were actually racist that I remember, one was about preserving "German blood." But Hitler was saying stuff like, "I want the youth of Germany to be above all peace loving because you are the future blah blah blah." It’s really just sort of blatant in your face propaganda, if you were alive in Germany at the time, I can sorta see how if racism was socially acceptable, it would be easy to follow somebody like Hitler, but at the same time, with the hindsight we have now, it’s hard to watch Hitler speak without finding it funny how every other word is an obvious lie. "I want the youth of Germany to be peace loving."

It’s like, yeah, you want the youth of Germany to be peace loving, that’s why you filled up a stadium with German boys dressed like soldiers and were screaming at them for half an hour about how their country is the best after showing a shot of rows of thousands of soldiers carrying flags… its stuff that’s hard not to roll your eyes at unless you actually want to believe it. It’s very overt authoritarianism.
