It’s a mix of spices that don’t appeal to all. The bread is sour. Berbere is a very strong and unique spice. I eat it once every few years but rarely crave it. I prefer Sudanese or Yoruban Nigerian or Senegalese food.

The West African food often consists of stews and vegetables. I had a beef and pumpkin stew that was great. Sudanese is its own North African spin.

It’s awesome. I cooked the Nigerian version. I also had the Senegalese version with fish and vegetables. If you cook you can make it in an hour.

No idea where you live and you shouldn’t post it here. I’ve never run into a lot of restaurants. Apparently NYC and Houston have a lot. A good West African or Nigerian cookbook is $20-$30. I live in the Midwest but I can get the spices I need from Amazon.

Of course, the suppression of African religions and cultures is a cultural genocide. A lot of that kicked off after the Haiti revolts, where the French hadn’t suppressed the shamans who led it or the cultural pride that allowed it.

Not trying to defend white people but I find it hard to believe that they do not know flavor. Like look at Italians for example. Dont they make their sauce from scratch using different types herbs and spices along with certain types of vegetables?
Also dont white Americans tend to barbecue via dry rub or wet rub? What about the Brits? Dont they use salt and pepper along with some type of spice?

Idk, I think the lack of seasoning probably applies mostly to the British, but most white Americans don’t actually have British ancestry. The US is a majority minority country, white Americans are mostly English, Irish, German, and Italian.

Apparently Nigeria is one of the top consumers of instant noodles because Indonesia is Muslim so they made halal Ramen and sold it to Nigerians because Nigeria has a hundred million Muslims since they’re half Muslim. It’s like the most random thing.
