No. Marx favored rule by the entire working class, supposedly. Anyone who didn’t own means of production and sold their labor power for a wage. He figured organized masses of industrial workers were best-equipped to be organized to seize the factories. However, he did shunt peasants, whom he viewed as conservative and tied to the land.
Marx was a hateful social parasite who lived off his mom and from Engels’ largesse.
In 1872, anarchist Mikhail Bakunin challenged Marx at the first international. They’d been feuding a whole. Bakunin said a workers’ state would turn authoritarian. He said no “”dictatorship of the proletariat” would cede power once in power. He said you can’t use centralized tyranny to destroy centralized tyranny.

I’m not an expert on it, but it might be somebody said that he was thinking mostly of factory workers and then somebody heard that and misrepresented that as he only cared about factory workers or something.

Honestly my actual opinion on economics is you need a balance between socialist policies and capitalist policies. You want a social safety net and a high standard of living for the poor, but you also want to foster innovation at the same time. I’m not an extremist at either end.

And if you’re wondering what I think balanced means, something close to where Canada is at probably. If you’re sane I think you would consider that to be 80% capitalist, but MAGA would say they’re next to North Korea, so I figured I’d just name a country and let people decide what they think about it.
